Over 20 years ago, Patti White’s daughter, Lisa, who has Down syndrome, announced she was pregnant. Lisa had been living independently, working full-time, and in a healthy relationship with a man who also has Down syndrome. Her son, Nic, was born prematurely and also has Down syndrome. Unfortunately, Nic’s father passed away when Nic was five, and Lisa raised him with the help of her mother, Patti.
